Michael Chanan, teacher, filmmaker, and author of The Cuban Image, is Director of Bristol Docs, a centre to promote documentary media in South West Britain. Housed at the University of the West of England, the centre will host the international documentary conference, Visible Evidence XI, in December 2003.
