Jonathan Eig

Jonathan Eig teaches screenwriting and film history in and around Washington, DC. His screenplays have won a CINE Golden Eagle and a Houston Heart of Film Festival award. He has helped design film series and lectured on assorted topics at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, MD and at Cinema Art Bethesda. His particular interests center on modern popular culture: film, theater, music, fiction, sports, and the increasingly pop culture status being accorded to journalism and politics. His latest screenplay, The Hit, explores the nature of identity in the cyber space age. This essay was written while Eig was a Montgomery County Arts & Humanities Fellow.
