Steve Lipkin

Steve Lipkin teaches film study, and film and video production in Western Michigan University’s School of Communication.  His research focuses on film and television docudrama, with recent work focusing  in particular on the rhetoric of war in feature films and movies of the week based on true stories.  He has presented his research at the Society of Cinema Studies, the University Film and Video Association, and Visible Evidence conferences.  His work has been published in Quarterly Review of Film and Video, Cinema Journal, and the Journal of Film and Video.  His book, Real Emotional Logic: Film and Television Docudrama as Persuasive Practice, was published by Southern Illinois University Press in January 2002.
