Everyman and no man: white, heterosexual masculinity in contemporary serial killer movies

Nicola Rehling

Nicola Rehling teaches film and literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She also lectures in film studies at City College, Thessaloniki (Affiliated Institution of the University of Sheffield).

This essay forms part of her PhD thesis entitled “All and Nothing: White Heterosexual Masculinity in Contemporary Popular cinema”, which she completed last year. She has also published on Gertrude Stein, Fight Club, and The Matrix (forthcoming).

Her current research interest is popular cinematic representations of white, ethically inflected masculinities, in particular Greek and Greek-American masculinities.
