Bert Cardullo teaches drama and film at Ege (Aegean) University in Izmir, Turkey. He is the editor, most recently, of Satyajit Ray: Interviews (Mississippi), and the author of In Search of Cinema: Writings on International Film Art (McGill-Queen's). Forthcoming in 2008, from the State University of New York Press, is Soundings on Cinema: Speaking to Film and Film Artists, a collection of his interviews with, and essays on, major movie directors.
