Dominique Russell

Dominique Russell has taught at a number of Canadian Universities, including York, Brock, and most recently the University of Western Ontario. She is the editor of Rape in Art Cinema (Continuum, forthcoming). Recent publications on film sound include “A Second Listen: Meanings of Silence in Adolfo Aristarain’s Tiempo de Revancha” in Studies in Hispanic Cinemas and “Sounds like Horror: Alejandro Amenábar’s Thesis on Audio-Visual Violence” in Canadian Journal of Film Studies.

She is also a playwright and screenwriter whose work has appeared in film festivals (Yorkton, Sao Paolo) and on Canadian French and English-language television (CBC, Radio-Canada, Bravo).
