Return to Colonial fictions
Justin Vicari is a creative writer, translator, and film scholar. His translations of the Algerian writer Jean Sénac were recently featured in American Poetry Review. His contributions to Jump Cut include essays on the films of Michael Heneke and The Addiction by Abel Ferrara. He has also published articles on film in Film Quarterly, Bright Lights Film Journal, Senses of Cinema, Cinetext, and Film Journal.
Vicari wrote the original poetry chapbook, Siamese Twins of the 21st Century (West Town Press, 2008), and translated Woman Bathing Light to Dark: Prose Poems by Paul Eluard (Toad Press, 2006). His review of Ulrich Seidl’s Dog Days was selected to appear in the forthcoming anthology, New Austrian Film. His award-winning creative writing has also appeared in such journals as Third Coast, Southern Poetry Review, The Ledge, Fugue, Rune, Phoebe, Redactions, 32 Poems, and others.
