|
Magnus Ullén is Senior Lecturer of English at Karlstad University, Sweden. He received his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at Uppsala University, 2002, and was appointed Reader in Comparative Literature at Stockholm University in 2009. He is the author of The Half-Vanished Structure: Hawthorne’s Allegorical Dialectics (2004), and has published articles in New Literary History, Texas Studies in Language and Literature, Studies in the Novel and The Explicator, as well as in several Scandinavian journals. Between 2003 and 2005, the Swedish Research Council supported his study on pornography and narrativity in consumer society, which was published in Swedish in 2009 as Just for you: pornography, consumption, narrative (Bara för dig: pornografi, konsumtion, berättande; http://www.bokia.se/bara-for-dig-magnus-ullen-9185000566/bok/9789185000562/). He hopes one day to write a book on Christmas records, and thinks everybody ought to lend the Lisa Ullén Quartet an ear.
