Andrea Grunert

Andrea Grunert received her Ph.D. from the University of Paris X, with a dissertation on the films of Clint Eastwood and the U.S. frontier. She currently teaches film and media studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Bochum (Germany). Her research interests include contemporary U.S., British and Irish films and the subject of acting in a field of interdisciplinary studies. She has published widely on film in European journals and contributed to several books on film and culture. She is the editor of  Le corps filmé [The Cinematic Body], published by Corlet (France) in 2006 and of Frontières [Borders] to be published by Corlet in 2010. She has also forthcoming articles on the filmic representation of the Irish Traveller community and the Troubles in Northern Ireland. She  contributes regularly to the French webmagazine specialized on film Objectif Cinéma:  http://www.objectif-cinema.com where she published a portrait of the actor Ciarán Hinds and an in-depth-interview with him, conducted in December 2008.
