Michael Haneke: a little colder than reality

Jason Kelly Roberts

Jason Kelly Roberts is a Ph.D. candidate in the Screen Cultures program at Northwestern University. His dissertation research concerns the reception of major technological change by film critics, placing a particular emphasis on how critics resist or incorporate various home video technologies into their definitions of cinema. And he also continues to carry on a love/hate relation with Michael Haneke's unforgiving movies.
