"She is the Co-Producer of blair doroshwalther's forthcoming documentary,
The Fire This Time. Her critical research focuses on sound in documentary and narrative film and audio pedagogy. Chesler is an Associate Professor of Communication Arts at Marymount Manhattan College http://www.mmm.edu teaching digital filmmaking in documentary, fiction and transmedia forms. There, she also serves as the Director of the Theresa Lang Center for Producing that emphasizes media production across platforms for social justice.

In 2010, Giovanna was interviewed by Skip Blumberg’s graduate students at Hofstra University.
