Roxanne Samer is a Ph.D. Candidate in Critical Studies at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. She is currently writing her dissertation, Receiving Feminisms, which is a history of lesbian feminist discourse, spectatorship, and fandom. Her essay “Re-conceiving Misconception: Birth as a Site of Filmic Experimentation” appeared in Jump Cut 53 (2011).
