Chris Vanderwees is a PhD Candidate in the Department of English Language & Literature at Carleton University. He received a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship for his dissertation work, which focuses on cultural responses to visual representations of 9/11. His publications include articles on Georges Bataille, Tim O’Brien, and post 9/11 literature and culture. He is also editor-in-chief of NeoAmericanist, an interdisciplinary online journal for American studies.
