Peter Steven was the editor of Jump Cut: Hollywood, Politics and Counter-Cinema (Between the Lines, 1985) and more recently the author of The No-Nonsense Guide to Global Media, 2nd edition (Verso, 2010); The News: A Groundwork Guide (Groundwood Books, 2010); and About Canada: Media (Fernwood Publishing, 2011). He is Professor of Film Studies at Sheridan College and lives in Toronto.
