A “failed brotherhood”: Polish-Jewish relations and the films of Andrzej Wajda

Tim Kennedy obtained his doctorate from the University of Reading, U.K., in 2007 with a thesis “Cinema Regarding Nations: Re-imagining Armenian, Kurdish, and Palestinian national identity in film” (available as an online resource at www.cinenation.net). He has published articles on Palestinian Cinema in Film Quarterly and Senses of Cinema; on Yilmaz Guney in Kurdish Cinema (Agora Kitapligi, 2009); on Armenian cinema in the Armenological Review (Haigazian University Press, 2007); and a chapter on Michel Khleifi in Ten Arab Filmmakers (Indiana University Press, 2015).

Tim presented papers on Kurdish National Cinema at the first ever Film Conference in Diyarbakir in 2009, and at the 2010 American Comparative Literature Association Conference in St. Louis. He has been a member of the Competition Jury at the London Kurdish Film Festival for several years.
