Global formats, gender and identity: the search for The Perfect Bride on Italian television
|
Michela Ardizzoni currently teaches media at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received her PhD in Communication and Culture from Indiana University-Bloomington. Her research focuses on global media, transnationalism, identity politics, immigration, alternative and urban media with an emphasis on Western Europe. Her study of Italian television, North/South, East/West: Mapping Italianness on Television, was published in 2007 by Lexington Books. She is the co-editor of Globalization and Contemporary Italian Media, forthcoming by Lexington Press. She’s currently working on a project that examines the emergence of new urban media in transnational contexts. This project consists of ethnographic studies of the relationship between new urban media, globalization, and identity politics in a variety of national and transnational settings.
