Joe Heumann is professor of Communication Studies at Eastern Illinois University, where he teaches a variety of film courses. He and Robin published Ecology and Popular Film: Cinema on the Edge in 2009 (SUNY Presss). Their second book, "That's All Folks"?: Ecocritical Readings of American Animated Features is forthcoming from the University of Nebraska Press. Although he is retiring, he will continue teaching and writing about film.
