I am a Professor of Film Studies at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. I have written two books on Irish cinema, co-edited a volume on bisexuality, co-authored Film: A Critical Introduction with Tom Wallis, and I have published widely on subjects in feminist, avant-garde, and New Queer cinemas. This is my first examination of issues related to 9/11, although questions of historical trauma and its impact on narrative and cinematic form have informed my work on Irish cinema, my course on the horror film, and a recent essay on National Public Radio, the web, and the memorialization of Hurricane Katrina, which appears in Old and New Media After Katrina, ed. Diane Negra. Palgrave Macmillan: 2010. You may find information on my teaching and publications on my website. I am also a yoga teacher and a sighthound enthusiast. I am currently at work on a book on Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon. To
