Jae Yoon Park is a lecturer in the Film Program in the Department of Theater and Film at the University of Kansas. Her doctoral dissertation, Seeing Stars: Female Film Stars and Female Audiences in Post-colonial Korea, is a study of the relationship between Korean cinema’s construction of femininity and female audiences’ interpretation of such representations. Her research interests include postcolonial discourses in Asian cinema, postcolonial feminism, and gender, race, and ethnicity in film and television.
