Rage against the state: historicizing the “angry young man” in Tamil cinema
Kumuthan Maderya graduated from the National University of Singapore, with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in History, in 2009. The essay “Rage Against the State” is a development of his Honors Dissertation/Thesis of the same title. His other article on Tamil cinema entitled: “Kollywood and the Indian Tamil Diaspora” is forthcoming on PRISM: USP Undergraduate Journal. He presently teaches International History at Anglo-Chinese Junior College, Singapore.
