Milo Sweedler

Milo Sweedler is Associate Professor of French and Cultural Analysis & Social Theory at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada. His research interests include narrative cinema, modern and contemporary literature, and social and political theory. His first book, The Dismembered Community: Bataille, Blanchot, Leiris, and the Remains of Laure, was published in 2009 by University of Delaware Press. He is currently working on a book-length project on allegories of the end of capitalism in contemporary film.

Milo’s project on allegories of the end of capitalism is inspired in part by French economist Thomas Piketty’s groundbreaking work on wealth inequality. For an overview of Piketty’s key findings, check out the roundtable discussion here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heOVJM2JZxI.
