Giovanna Chesler

Giovanna Chesler, MFA, is a Full Professor of Film and Video Studies at George Mason University. They chaired the Film at Mason program for seven years and worked alongside current Interim Program Director and Associate Professor Cynthia Fuchs at the start of the pandemic. Dr. Fuchs and the faculty and staff in Film and Video Studies quickly determined, as a group, how to preserve the safety of their program’s community while continuing online instruction with compassion, imperfection, collaboration, and empathy. Giovanna’s writing on audio pedagogy and sound in documentary have appeared in Jump Cut. They direct and produce documentary and fiction films exploring gender, health, sexuality and racial justice. http://www.g6pictures.com
