A REVIEW OF CONTEMPORARY MEDIA

Eriko Ong

Eriko Ong did her studies in Hong Kong before going to the United Kingdom to pursue higher education at the University of Leicester, where she gained a bachelor's degree in Film Studies. In the film course that introduced contemporary Chinese cinemas, she came across the works of Wong Kar-wai and since then gained interest in his films for their aesthetics that so greatly encapsulate the city she grew up in, both visually and symbolically. Hong Kong in Transition and “Aesthetic Anxiety” in the Millennium Films of Wong Kar-wai is her first film research publication.
