Tingyu Chen

Tingyu Chen is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Communications Research, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests include film stylistics and history, feminist theory, women’s cinema, Chinese cinema, VFX, globalization and cultural modernity. She is also interested in the application of digital tools in humanities research. One of her current explorations is videographic criticism, through which she explores the different ways in which videographic work could complement and combine with moving image studies.
